Bury a Friend // Billie Eilish
From her upcoming album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? set to release on March 29th, 2019 Billie Eilish's latest single Bury a Friend is hauntingly hypnotic. With stanzas that read more like dark poetry than pop music, her twisted lyrics are brutally revealing about her emotional state as an artist stating, "I want to end me," and "Honestly I thought I'd be dead by now".
While not all of her OG fans who fell in love with her melodic and delicate ear candy like Ocean Eyes are on board with the darker path she's been treading towards, it's her new unique and ominous sound that has set her apart from many other upcoming artists, and has ultimately risen her star so quickly.
The chilling vocals of Bury a Friend combined with the deep-cameo-voice of rapper Crooks, and eerie sounds that belong more in a haunted house than on a pop album, truly make Eilish's new single a must listen. For a truly immersing experience I highly recommend watching the recently released music video - but maybe not if you're afraid of needles.
