If you didn't already know it, Halsey is a SAVAGE.
What seemingly started out as another celebrity wannabe-country-song, Halsey's latest single from her unreleased album Manic "You should be sad" took listeners by surprise when it transformed into a pop-country ballad of regret directed at her past relationships. In the song, she sings about being in an unfaithful relationship that should have left her ex feeling sad now that she's gone. Paired with a sexually charged music video of a nightclub hoedown turned orgy, the lyrics are straight savage.
"No you're not half the man you think that you are // And you can't fill the hole inside of you with money, girls, and cars // I'm so glad I never ever had a baby with you // 'Cause you can't love nothing unless there's something in it for you"
Shots officially fired - and this isn't the first time. The singer's song "Without Me" also talked about her experience with caring for her partner more than they did for her, only to ultimately end up being cheated on. Halsey's collaboration on Post-Malone's most recent album Hollywood's Bleeding in the song "Die for Me" also delivered hard-hitting, blood-lusting lyrics,
"I came around, I figured out, should follow my gut // I don't play anymore, I went through your phone // And caught the girls in your DM's and took all them home // And I know it's been a while since the last time you heard from me // Grew into a savage and that's why they gave this verse to me // Turns out at shows 'cause they turn out at shows I sold 15 million copies of a break-up note".
Damn. With her new album dropping in just one week, fans everywhere will be tuning in to see if the savage revenge rampage continues.
